Spring Summer 2002 Junya Watanabe x Levi’s ‘Poem’ Plaid Trousers
Spring Summer 2002 Junya Watanabe x Levi’s ‘Poem’ Plaid Trousers
(FOR SALE) A pair of Spring Summer 2002 Junya Watanabe x Levi’s ‘Poem’ Plaid Trousers.
Following a successful couple of years operating a womenswear line, Junya Watanabe was bestown the opportunity to introduce the Junya Watanabe Man label in 2001. Debuting his first ever menswear collection, Spring Summer 2002’s “Poem” presentation has forever gone down as one of the most infamous runways of twenty first century menswear. Involving his entire staff in the writing process of each piece, the collection highlights the individuality of his staff whilst maintaining a sense of ambiguity.
This particular pair of pants features one of the most iconic poems, a more negative outlook from the otherwise positive poem collection. The love speaks not of an amourosity for a person, but rather an appreciation for the world. When Watanabe’s staff were asked to contribute to the Poem collection with their own unique take on love, it’s extremely interesting to see how each person interpreted love as not just intimacy with one, but as love for nature, people and life. These jeans have a bootcut fit, suitable for a 28 inch waist or smaller if belted. Here is the opportunity to purchase one of Junya Watanabe’s legendary Poem pieces from the original Spring Summer 2002 release.
