Founded in 1980 by Shawn Stussy, the Califolnia native began his lifestyle brand as a surfboard company, producing hand-shaped boards and selling surf-inspired graphic T-shirts. Over time, the label evolved to incorporate elements of streetwear and skate culture, especially with the rise of skateboarding’s popularity in the 90’s. Despite their massive expansion in the last few years, Stussy remains true to its surf and skate roots, and continues to produce clothing and accessories that reflect the laid-back, adventurous spirit of the surfing and skate customs.
