Jil Sander

Jil Sander is a German fashion designer known for her minimalist and modern approach to clothing design. Sander was born in Germany in 1943 and studied textile engineering before launching her line in 1968. Sander gained international recognition in the 1980s and 1990s for her clean, structured designs that emphasized high-quality materials and simple, elegant silhouettes. Her aesthetic was often characterized by a neutral color palette and a focus on precise tailoring and construction. In 1999, Jil Sander was sold to the Prada Group, in which the creative direction of the brand was steered south of her original ideology.
