Debuting in 2008, founded by Yujiro Komatsu, Blackmeans has swiftly become a symbol of rebellion and freedom. Frequently paying homage to the 70’s punk rock aesthetic, Komatsu himself is a fierce advocate for self-expression. Exemplified in his work, colors and abstract design techniques are common-setting the radical brand apart from the rest. Blackmeans has perfected the art of leatherwork and craftsmanship, forging each garment by hand in the surrounding streets of Japan.

This hybrid leather garment combines the traditional elements of a motorcycle jacket with a kimono collar shape, a design which they applied to a handful of other piece, including the shredded denim kimono which I’d sold a few years back. With a belted strap along the bottom hem, this jacket features silver 1017 Alyx 9SM branded hardware, accompanied by a pentagon pocket used on many Blackmeans outerwear items as well. Coming brand new with tags, this jacket is best suited for a size extra large (tagged size 2XL Japanese sizing fits slightly smaller).
