Jun Takahashi’s return to runway fashion after taking a three season break was a highly anticipated return. With the ideology of ‘Less But Better’ being embroidered into many of the garments, Takahashi’s minimalist approach to creation was a breath of fresh air. The ensemble of multi-coloured yarn is carefully weaved into a thrashed dirt wash base, creating a distinguishing sense of individuality. The jeans are carefully embroidered with both traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching and Undercover’s signature Patti Smith lightning bolt emblem. Jun Takahashi implements the motif atop the right knee of the denim, paying homage to Smith’s identical tattoo.
