AW2008 Supreme x New Era By Any Means Necessary Fitted Hat

This has been one of my all time grails that I’ve spent over 5 years trying to track down for a price I felt was reasonable. For many, the ”By Any Means Necessary” Supreme print brings back vivid memories of The North Face collaboration puffer jackets, but for me, this lesser known fitted hat from the original 2008 release has been my magnum opus. To my knowledge, this is one of the first pieces from a bigger brand where custom embroidery was done on a fitted hat, in the same style that’s been popularized so heavily over the last few years. I don’t know if it’s fair to say it’s the inspiration for it all, though nonetheless, this fitted was a decade ahead of its time. The last few photos pertain to culturally relevant photos I thought stemmed from the same ideology as this, aside from the last infinite brim cap that I thought was just a fun swipe.

This particular hat from Supreme’s Fall Winter 2008 collection features an incredibly detailed amount of embroidery that encircles the iconic New York Yankees logo. The cap reads “By Any Means Necessary” across the front panel, with Supreme Team cursive embroidery on the back. This piece comes brand new with the original sticker on the brim and is a size 7 ½.
