Growing up in Los Angeles, Ben Taverniti’s ideology with Unravel Project couldn’t be clearer. ‘To create something new, you must first destroy.’ Whether Taverniti means this in a literal deconstructive sense, which is often the case for his pieces, or in a metaphorical sense of tearing down past ideologies to innovate, it’s clear to see his simplistic philosophy has resulted in beautiful creations. Today, Unravel Project continues to expand, becoming carried widely by retailers such as Harrods and Net-á-Porter.

This particular pair of jeans is a clear representation of Taverniti’s base premise, as the jeans feature a deconstructed button down shirt, reupholstered onto the distressed denim base.
