(FOR SALE) An Unreleased Sample Dolce & Gabbana ‘Braided Leather’ Woven Lambskin Jacket.

Dolce & Gabbana’s step into the new millennia was refreshing by all accounts. Introducing silhouettes akin to utility, the label immersed themselves under a militaristic persona. Popularized by designers like Helmut Lang, the tactical revolt provided a new take on utilitarian traditions. Incorporating luxury furs and expert tailoring, founders Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce unapologetically pushed the envelope, straying far from their classic Italian roots. In the heat of the anti-fashion movement, experiment was encouraged and Gabbana embraced it. Using their power as an established Maison, the duo was able to create timeless staples, regarded as the brand’s “golden era”.

There is an undeniable amount of admiration I have for true craftsmanship and garment construction, especially seeing pieces slowly decrease in effort/quality control as brands look for a quick buck. This jacket is an unreal example of how they don’t make things like they used to. This braided leather technique is immensely time consuming and delicate which I’d assume is why this piece was never released to the public. Woven in and of both sides of the jacket the way you’d thread a needle with string to add stitches, each of these horizontal panels is secured entirely by themselves, cut to measure perfectly for each strip. Never seen anything like this before. Coming in a size medium, this piece is in amazing overall condition with only miniscule wear. Here is the opportunity to purchase an unreal sample piece of history from Dolce & Gabbana.
