SS2024 Kapital ‘Boro’ Patchwork Repaired Denim Jacket
SS2024 Kapital ‘Boro’ Patchwork Repaired Denim Jacket
(FOR SALE) A Spring Summer 2024 Kapital ‘Boro’ Patchwork Repaired Denim Jacket.
Founded in 2002 by father son duo, Toshikiyo and Kiro Kirata, Kapital is a label pushing traditional Japanese craft to new limits. Rooted in denim repair, the label continues to reimagine classic Western staples through an Eastern eye, using rigorous technical ability to create highly unique silhouettes. Toshikiyo’s insight on denim in combination with Kirata’s youthful perspective drives Kapital in a unique manner, catering to a wide audience while ensuring experimentation. Growing to unfathomable heights, the two now stand at one of Japan’s leading luxury brands with decades ahead of them.
This collectors grail from Kapital is an iconic piece that releases every couple of seasons, each done with slight modifications to the original style. This gorgeous blue ‘Boro’ repaired jacket is from Kiro Hirata’s final collection designing for Kapital before his unfortunate passing a few weeks ago. This model of the jacket features button hardware as opposed to the two way zip seen on some others, completely constructed from fabric scraps and reinforced all by hand using traditional Japanese reparation methods. Best suited for a size medium, this jacket has a boxy cut fit and comes new with tags attached. Here is the opportunity to purchase an increasingly hard to acquire piece from Kiro Hirata’s final presentation for Kapital.
