Formally educated at Bunka Fashion College, Jun Takahashi's enthusiasm for Western culture birthed a beautiful hybrid of Japanese design in combination with staple Americana concepts. Takahashi’s fascination for music bleeds through his work, even forming his own cover band ‘Tokyo Sex Pistols’ alongside Nigo and Hiroshi Fujiwara (respectively Bape and Fragment’s founders). Shying away from the media’s one track perception of what runway fashion should be, Jun Takahashi has broken many boundaries and set a precedent for creative freedom from onlooking designers.

This particular pair of jeans references Ian Curtis of Joy Division’s 1980 ‘Atmosphere’ from album ‘Lich Und Blindheit’ (Light and Darkness). With varying patches praising lyrics from the enchanting song, this is one of Undercover’s many subtle nods to Joy Division for their innovative musical prowess.
