Miuccia Prada is an Italian fashion designer and entrepreneur who has been the creative force behind the luxury fashion house Prada for over three decades. Born in Milan, Italy in 1949, Prada studied political science and earned a PhD in mime and theater before joining the family business in the late 1970s. Under Miuccia Prada’s direction, the brand skyrocketed in popularity, hitting a massive turning point in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s. Miuccia Prada’s minimalist yet elegant touch was the perfect contrast to the maximal early 1990’s runway fashion, beautifully taking the lead in an experimental leap of faith.

Miuccia Prada’s stretch through the late 90s and early 2000s is widely regarded as a prime era of her ongoing work. This particular button snap western jacket is a perfect example of such. The two tone brown piece features two breast pockets, accented with a lighter brown piping that accents the upper shoulders.
