Jean Paul Gaultier is a French designer who has rewrote the industry rules since inception in 1976. Founding his menswear label years later in 1984, the artisan was instantly plagued as “l’enfant terrible” for his outlandish, inexcusable designs. Consciously reconstructing our vision of beauty, he experimented without remorse, pulling from the likes of taboo niches. Utilizing rebellious textiles, Gaultier conveyed his message through inventive mediums, popularizing the mesh full print silhouette. He stomped on guidelines in pursuit of creative expression and was successful in doing so, hailed as a fashion forefather and true Magnus opus in his field.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Comic Strip graphic from Spring Summer 1995 was one of his most captivating graphics of the 1990’s, utilized on an array of pieces from this particular collection. One of my personal favourite Gaultier graphics of all time, this piece comes in a size 48, which equates to a mens medium.
