Born in Milan, Italy in 1949, Prada studied political science and earned a PhD in mime and theater before joining the family business in the late 1970s. Under Miuccia Prada’s direction, the brand skyrocketed in popularity, hitting a massive turning point in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.
