Jun Takahashi’s passion for Western culture and music is something that’s developed itself into the core ethos of Undercover. Pursuing a night life as a member of the ‘Tokyo Sex Pistols’ the collaborative cover band was a joint effort between other famed designers Nigo and Hiroshi Fugiwara. One of the first breakthrough eastern designers to make his way into the Parisian circuit, Takahashi is a designer who’s continued to progress with an upwards trajectory, designing for over thirty years.
This simplistic piece from Jun Takahashi’s Autumn Winter 2001 ‘Melting Pot’ collection, was one of the symbolic garments, in which Takahashi pokes fun at the stylistic shift towards tighter clothing. ‘Melting Pot’ symbolized a blend between the skin and cloth, mixing materials together that would otherwise be unconventional. This particular ribbed hoodie has a built in balaclava feature, capable of being undone with a YKK quarter zip pull. Coming in a size large, this hoodie is in amazing overall condition with miniscule wear. Here is the opportunity to purchase a lesser known grail from over 20 years past Undercover history.
