Vintage Gucci Fruit Silk Button Down Shirt

(FOR SALE) A Vintage 1970s Gucci ‘Fruit’ Silk Button Down Shirt. 

Gucci is an Italian luxury brand founded in 1921, known for its leather goods and iconic GG monogram logo. Gaining popularity among celebrities in the 1950s-60s, the company’s short lives fame began to dwindle when the brand faced a financial drought through the 1980’s almost causing them to go under. However, under Tom Ford's leadership in the 1990s, Gucci experienced a major transformation, becoming a leader in fashion with a more sensual and daring aesthetic. 

Although this piece has some evident signs of wear which I’ve included in the last two slides on my website (missing sleeve buttons on one side and some rips by the back of the collar, I thought this piece was worth posting for the historical content of it being a nearly 60 year old Gucci top. This piece is still super wearable despite the flaws and is best suited for a size medium. Not everyday you’re able to stumble across a historical relic like this, which really documents the essence of Gucci’s always bold brand ethos even five decades ago.
